These are puppets I created on commission for Stanford University’s performance of The Firebird Suite.  Performed in 2007 in and around a live, symphonic orchestra, it was in celebration of Stravinsky’s 125 birthday.  If you are interested in finding out more, or for booking information, please email me.

“The roots of puppetry are lost in antiquity, yet it is an art form that speaks to us on the most basic levels. It’s primitive, free, magical - which makes it a perfect compliment to Stravinsky’s The Firebird. While this production follows the classic story, the dancers have been replaced by tall, flowing puppets of silk and air. The puppets, slightly abstracted to enhance the other worldly aspects of the story, allow the firebird herself to actually fly, taking the audience's imaginations along for the ride.”
